Extension Modules

DXF.AAMA Export – based on the DXF-AAMA industrial standard, this add-on function enables the users to exchange pattern and grading rules between different apparel CAD-systems. (DXF-AAMA Import function is included in each standard COMTENSE software package free of charge).

Cut Plan – works out the most efficient garment production plan for the minimum number of markers. The user enters the number of products needed to cut, types of fabric and constraints. With this data, the program works out the most efficient garment production plan for the minimum number of markers.

AutoNester – high-performance fully automatic module for pattern nesting in the process of marker making. It saves a lot of user’s time, eliminating the manual pattern arrangements in the marker. This module also helps to achieve significant fabric savings, usually providing with the better result, compared to a manual marker.

ISO Export – the program unit to optimize the process of automatic cutting and to create ISO-files for the CNC-cutter control. This module allows the user to change different parameters like the first cutting point, cut direction and sequence of the pieces.

Just Print – the program which allows the user to get digitally printed patterns, sending markers directly to wide-format textile printers. It can save time, fabric and paint, applying mass production technologies to the production of the customized products.

Technology – an automated environment for the work of garment production technologists, designed to calculate the time and costs of production, planning and assigning jobs. The program gives flexibility and accelerates the process of technological preparation for the production of clothing of any assortment.

Pattern Creation in AB OVO is a parametric unit to create drawings of the basic blocks. Every known method can be applied to create the basic piece set. The body measurements and ease values can be used as parameters. Applying the parametric construction method, the user can alter the base construction according to altered parameters. Created basic patterns can be transferred into the pattern development and grading module – Temporary Model.

Modelling – Temporary Model is the key module of COMTENSE CAD System – a program to develop, modify, and finalize model pieces. It provides communication and data exchange with other CAD modules; it has got very clear and easy-to use functions, user-friendly buttons, various tools. The user can operate two or more instances. *There are certain limits in Indiv package

Grading – Temporary Model is also used in the process of grading. Grading can be realized in different ways: with the help of grading values, grading rules or grading charts: the system can also calculate grading rules between patterns of two different sizes. The goal is to get precise and proportional grading. The look-and-feel feature of COMTENSE is the integrated grading. The grading rules are automatically recalculated, when any command to transform the piece is applied.

Digitizing – Traditionally the paper/cardboard patterns can be entered into the computer with the help of a digitizer. It is fast, precise and easy. Photodigitizing with a digital camera can also be applied.

Plotter marker /Plotter printing – with the help of a plotter the patterns can be printed or cut. The user can send to plot patterns, grading nests or professional markers. Indiv package allows the user to adjust plotters of 1300 mm width maximum.  COMTENSE offers different printing/cutting plotters, card cutters.

Marker PRO – the module allows the user to achieve fabric economy and optimize fabric utilization. Markers can be created in different ways according to given parameters and conditions such as width, structure and type of fabric, fabric spreading type, the  gap between pieces, proportion within the fabric design, quantity of garments, fabric shrinkage, etc. Plaids and stripes, fabric design repeat can be taken into account as well. All the parameters can be altered at any time. Pieces can be grouped and positioned as one block. When needed, patterns can be split with seam allowances and joined back together. The aim of this module is to reduce production cost.

Wide-format printing – the feature that allows to print out patterns and markers on wide-format industrial plotters with print widths of 1800 mm and above.

Working on a network – the feature allows workstations to share data via a common database across local area network.
